Band 8 - Commencing Salary $106,184 p.a + 9.5% Super

ABOUT THE ROLE

The position objectives for this position are;

  • Manage Council’s human resource and workplace relations functions
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionally qualified staff
  • Resolve complex workplace relations issues and support directorates in their interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement
  • Contribute to enterprise bargaining
  • Contribute to workforce planning through establishing metrics and performance indicator reporting
  • Lead the move to digital human resource services
  • Support organisational restructure processes
  • Oversee apprenticeship/traineeship/graduate work placement programs

SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications and experience

  • A post graduate qualification in human resource management or industrial relations or business with a human resource management major and extensive experience in workplace relations; OR
  • An undergraduate qualification in human resources management or industrial relations or business with a human resource management major with extensive and diverse relevant experience
  • Experience in leading, motivating and developing other employees
  • Experience in managing workplace relations and human resources in government or local government
  • A current Victorian driver’s licence is required


Skills and knowledge

  • Skilled in using sophisticated communication techniques to persuade, convince and negotiate
  • Skilled in developing policies, procedures and processes to deliver continuous improvement
  • Ability to deliver customer focused, high quality and timely outcomes
